Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
The short version: Cindervale Idle has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking. We don't sell your data. Your game saves live in your own browser, not on our servers.
This policy explains what limited information is involved when you visit this website or play Cindervale Idle, a game by Smolder Studios ("we", "us"). Questions? Email [email protected].
What we collect
- Website & hosting. This site is served through Cloudflare and GitHub Pages. Like any website, their servers automatically process standard technical data — such as your IP address and browser type — to deliver the page and protect against abuse. Cloudflare may set one strictly-necessary security cookie. We do not add any analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts.
- Game saves. Your progress is stored locally in your own browser (via localStorage) or on your own device in the desktop app. It is never uploaded to us. Clearing your browser data or game saves erases it.
- Bug reports. If you use the in-game "Report a bug" feature, the description you type and any screenshot you choose to attach are sent to our private Discord so we can fix the issue. Only send what you're comfortable sharing.
What we don't do
- No user accounts and no logins.
- No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information.
Third-party services
A few services power the game and its community, each under their own privacy policies:
- Cloudflare and GitHub Pages — website delivery and security.
- Discord — our community server and where bug reports arrive.
- Steam (Valve) — if you buy the full game, the purchase is handled entirely by Valve under Valve's own privacy policy and terms. We never see or store your payment details.
Children
Cindervale Idle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because there are no accounts and we collect no profile data, there is nothing for a child to submit beyond an optional bug report.
Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data a business holds about you. In practice we hold almost none — but you can email us any time at [email protected] and we'll help. You can remove your local game data at any time by clearing your browser storage or deleting your save.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game evolves. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above.
